Staci--You've lost 190 pounds!!! Yes, food will always be there, but look at how you've conquered it so far! I don't think a Hostess cake here and there is going to completely set you back--you are aware of it's hold on you, and you CAN win! You are a daily inspiration to me in my fight to win over food (I'm down 30!), and I'll continue to be awe-inspired by you. Enjoy the first day of Spring!!! Lisa King
Just a quick comment: The difference between the addiction of alcohol or cigarettes or drugs and the addiction of eating is that you can't STOP eating. Most recovering addicts of all other types will tell you they don't imbibe in their addiction a little bit each day, they completely avoid their trigger item. You can never totally avoid all food so you have to be stronger. And what is awesome is that you ARE! You learned something when those family members brought in their stuff, and now you can be better informed next time. And hey, you've lost more than a whole person, so a few slip ups are normal!
Staci--it's been a long time since I've stopped by your blog and I just can't believe how much you have accomplished! You should be nothing but proud...so proud!!! You look great! =)
Staci, I love ya. As a fellow food addict, I KNOW the hold it has. I know the feeling of WTH? when the urges are out of control. It sucks. But you're strong enough to KNOW this about yourself and continue to fight anyway! How easy would it be to say, "Oh well, I'll just let food win." and put 100 pounds back on? But that's not going to happen, because you care so much about your daughters, and about yourself, that you won't let it happen. Food addiction is one of the hardest to overcome because, like Minda said, you can't STOP eating. You and I both know what foods we can and can NOT have in the house. Don't be afraid to tell visitors, "I'm sorry, but I can't have Hostess cupcakes in my kitchen. If you have to have those things while you visit, could you please leave them locked in your car?" I've totally done that before, and if they really want to help you, it shouldn't be a problem! lol Sorry for the loooong comment. I'm PROUD of you and the amazing progress you've made...can't wait to see you get into the 100s!! :)
