gutter girlz!!

hope you guys will go check out the new gutter girlz challenge http://guttergirlz.blogspot.com/ really excited to see what everybody did....and what all of you are going to do....I did a page last night of the pics of our tomatos...that we picked and cut up...in our chilli...use another one of those chipboard buttons from cutesyglamdesigns http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5690419 but this time I cut it in half in true jeniece form.....
did anyone catch primtime last night?? they were doing a story on Randy Pausch http://youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo he had cancer, and was given only 3 to 6 months to live....but such an inspiring outlook on the life he had left, it was touching to see a father that knows he's going to die and leave his kids (3 little ones), to really see what a father thinks....and he said something about that it's not even that he won't have them....he was more heartbroken over the fact that...they won't have him...he said somebody is about to push my family off a cliff very soon and I won't be there.........it was cute he said you can either be a tigger or an eeyore?? I want to be a tigger....

not much going on today...I think the kids might run to the monroe county fair....just doesn't sound tempting to me this year......

scare....

had a little scare today...got a phone call saying my dad was in the hospital.....ended up being nothing life threatening....and he is home tonight..thank God...but it really scared me..and made me realize that I am not prepared to lose anybody else I love....just can't do it!! I know that there is no way of stopping it...and the older we get, it seems the more people we lose..so if you could add him to your prayers tonight...that would be great....plus he has no health insurance, which is a hole different issue.....but I am thankful he is home tonight....last night I went over alisons for a crop....oh my gosh she cooked the best food...something called chicken squares, and cheesy potatoes..., bunch of snacks and desserts....and sarah made this strawberry angel food cake...and she told us it was a healthy snack..but it didn't taste healthy.....but it was fun!!! I finished my page for the next gutter girlz challenge!! but can't show you that one yet.......

and then today...I finally did a page used some samples of October afternoon that they handed out at CHA!! oh ...they're so cute!!! and then the back ground paper is a beautiful gray...from basic grey.... so excited Jan just let me know that this layout is the featured layout over at two peas today !! yeah....thanks jan

Scrapbook Trends Toot!!!

yesterday I got an email from scrapbook trends....asking for a layout for their Dec issue.....was so excited, it's been awhile since I've got a request from them....so I am hoping that this will jump start my mojo!!! Plus I am going to go hang with the gang over at alisons.....not going to bring my stuff....but just socialize!! and then go home and hopefully puke out a few pages!!! I wanted to post a picture of Rachel...an online friend...that I was so excited to meet in real life!!! She was so sweet....had the cutest accent...(spelling that wrong..I'm sure) she's from england.......and so glad I got to get a pic with her...ran into her...most of the weekend...we kept checking to see if we'd seen kristina yet.....don't you just love the sexy apron...I had to wear that dang thing all weekend......it's hot!!! right??? have you seen the jenni bowlin "mini" bingo cards....the ones in red just make me melt....!!! I need those....
and check out the new stickers....I will take one in each color...please...and I think that chris said she ordered all the jenni bowlin....so I can't wait till we get these in at Scrappy Chic.....

long week

I can't believe that a week ago......I was at CHA...I am so glad that I went.....but let me tell you it has been a rough week after, I just felt wiped out.....both physically and metally...and creatively...is that a word?? I am learning that when i get to get away...I can enjoy it and have fun.....but afterwards I seem to hit a bottom, the closer we got to home I felt it coming, hearing all the other ladies I was with get phone calls from their husbands/boyfriends , knowing that I wasn't going to get that call....and that I was going home....and he wouldn't be there...I cried on and off for like 2 days afterwards, I keep a picture in my car...usually above my visor...and I actually had to take it down.....it just hurt to much, to look at someone...I want so bad to be back in my life, but know in my heart that he won't ..........but with my faith, friends and family....I keep going, even though I sometimes just feel like a robot....just getting through the days....each day gone , is a day closer to being with him.....I am supposed to go and crop at alisons tomorrow, I figured even if I don't feel like croppin' maybe just hang out....shoot I never get anything done...at crops lately anyway!!! but enough with the jabberin'.......I have been just playin' at my scrap table this week.......I got a new toy...the round it all.....didn't know that Scrappy Chic got them in....so basically I rounded anything and everything....... it was great for rounding the edges on acrylic and chipboard.....cardboard!! I also watched Ali edwards play with alcohol inks at CHA...she was droppin' dots on acrylic and it made these cool circle smears....so I made this tiny mini book for sommer of her birthday.......check out the rounded corners....

how cool is that?? I wonder if you could ink the entire thing to make colored acrylic..?

I am still working on it....but I wanted to show you a page....where I decided to add all the buttons I collected from the booths at CHA....this book is going to be so heavy...and bulky.....oh well....it's for me...

CHA 2008

2 days after being home...and I am still walking funny....(no comments jeniece and alison) yep...this weekend beat my butt!! but it was such an awesome opportunity..and I am thankful..I got the chance to go...(thanks Chris) to see what goes on how things work....see new product, and in some places get to get your hands on product that other people can't even get yet...is awesome!! before I left I knew I was gonna do a mini book of the trip....so I cut brought 2 pieces of acrylic....and had some of the scrap celebs sign it...thought it would be a cool cover!!! so I am itching to get started on that...I feel like I haven't scrapped in weeks!!!!
so you know that I am a scrap celeb Ho....but check out this big furry celeb...I got to meet....

was so excited to meet adrienne looman....been loving her buttons and doodles forever....she was over at the prima booth....which by the way they have a red acrylic album...coming out!! that chris ordered....yum!!!!

and....then "drum roll" Heidi Swapp....come on...I was a little star struck...

and then another heidi...heidi grace...oh my gosh she was so cute! to me she reminds me of her product...

and before the show...I was instructed to just watch Tim at work....so I stood there and watched him make a tag.....and I have to admit..it was magic...he just kinda stamped a little something here, smeared some ink..here...added a little metal thing and...then ta da'''' a gorgeous!! tag...he is amazing!!

okay I admit I'm a nerd....but the best part of the show...was the celebs...and the make n' takes....

Chicago......first day....

this was my first time in chicago........great viewthe scrappy chic van .......

it was about a 4 hour drive........we were so excited...and me and erin were taking a class at 3pm..so we had to get checked in.....
took this books in a box class.....within' like 5 minutes into the class...I had cut the cover wrong!! but made it work....yep..I think that I am one of "those" students...just struggled with following the step by step instructions...used to just doing what I want....but it was cool.....

after the class we headed down....for this big dinner...thing were all these restaurants bring in samples of their food...here chris is about to try something gross...I think it was a snail....??? gooo....

our table was just full of food...from taco's to burgers....pizza, ribs,pasta...shrimp..anything you could think of...we were so full!!! plus you got free drinks.....I had a very strong screwdriver....., oh speaking of screwdriver...later that night we went out for erins birthday and I ordered a screwdriver....it was $8.50...yikes!!!

trying to get things back to normal around here....have a ton of pics to post...of some of the celebs..., the make n' takes I made....sommers b-day..mikeys' b-day...

home sweet home.....

..just wanted to pop in for a minute.....I am home, exhausted...had a blast...got to meet some scrap celebs.. heidi !!!!, Tim, Ali, Teresa, Melody.......Heidi grace...Adrienne looman....and last but not least...I looked...all weekend for Miss Kristina Contes.....and at the last minute...had a 2second run in with her........love her!! meet some tally scrappers.....and was cool to meet a bunch of online people IRL!! oh yeah...and made a ton of make n takes...and seen tons of awesome new stuff...and chris ordered lots!!!!! Okay...I am off to bed....have a bunch of pics to post...soon....

Yesterday....Ed got his invitation to his 20th class reunion.......had to email the lady in charge...and she apologized, and said she would put him on the memorial list....."the memorial list"?? just didn't like the sound of that......and I wondered how long the list was??, Plus I wanted to visit the cemetary before I left....and the guy next to him hasn't had a headstone.....since ed's been there.....well he has one now....and it's a monster...huge!! like almost the biggest one in there......and it makes mine look so small....is that weird that I have headstone envy....but truthfully it's a gorgeous stone......so I am off to CHA in the morning.....I am so not looking forward to a 4 hour drive.....but better than flying....glad we took a class each day.....and tomorrow we have the first class at 3pm....so we will have time to get there get checked in to the hotel...and then off to the class.....Bad thing is that tomorrow is lil' mikey's 2nd birthday.....so I am sad I am going to miss this....but glad to be coming home on sommers birthday sunday.....plus tomorrow is Erins birthday too.....so we will have to find someway to celebrate her b-day there too...

Free Croppin'....

yesterday ran up to Scrappy Chic....to spend the day croppin'.....with Alison...plus it is free on sundays...and so quiet and relaxing......and I love that they have an old typewriter back there now too....we both used it on our layouts.....notice I said layouts...with an "s"...

I actually finished 2 layouts....yay......this is a pic of us at mcdonalds...and sommer ripped off the top of her fry box and said it would be good on a layout....oh yeah..I raised that girl right.....so the yellow stripe is the box...

finally scrapped!!

last night....I went to JJ's crop....and actually got 2 layouts done....and finished my KC mini book...still need to take pics....this first page...I want to dedicate to my sweet, funny...peep Miki!!!and the next one is of us playing mad gab in ohio.......
plus I got some sweet mail the other day.....Christi aka (latte-grande) had read on my blog...that when I picked up that mini book...in the brown..that I really wanted the green one...but our target didn't have anymore....so when she came across the green one at her target...she bought it for me!! a complete surprise...how sweet is that????......thanks Christi......on top of that she sent the cutest card.....

I am so beat!!! stayed out way to late..scrappin'....but I am sure not as tired as I will be next saturday morning....after walking at CHA for like 10 hours straight....I've heard so many horror stories...of the pain your feet are about to feel!!! But I have to experience it once...then my dream would be to go to the one in California.....but would have to get over the fear of flying first!!!

Sommer is over mikey and michelles....that girl is in love with this new baby.......but I think I will make some pasta salad....and chop up my tomato...that we grew......she finally turned red......and clean my house a little...and then I am itching to get my scrap on...again.....

Somerset Memories rooty-toot-toot !!!

got an email last night from somerset memories....asking for 5 more layouts!!! yeah.....3 of sommer, 1 of me...and 1 of my pumpkin'....Also just found out that Adrienne looman...is going to be at CHA!!! so excited to meet her...she was one of my first scrappers that I stalked...hee,hee!! the voting on the playlist is close, but as of right now....the playlist is losing by like 2 votes.......I am going to hopefully crop at JJ's crop tonight, at the red cross....and actually finish a page...it's been forever...so tomorrow...I hope to actually post some kind of scrap book thing...I think I will finish my KC mini book tonight too....and now off to bore you with more family pics.....after our nightmare adventure....at the days inn...we head down an exit and found a holiday inn....loved the balcony...it reminded me of a cruise ship.....it was really nice.....but I don't know if it is just our luck or what...but I was in our room for like a half an hour...and boom...my door swung open...and I thought it was one of the girls...nope,it was the cleaning lady........I could've been standing there in my underwear....!!! but she felt awful.....
the kids went right too...the pool...

and then for dinner me and sommer went to a restaurant called skyline chilli...which I had never heard of....it was so yummy...we got chilli cheese fries...but I wish we would've tried the chilli spagetti....

then we ran to the K-mart to get a game...and we picked up...Mad Gab....and I had never really played....but I swear that I almost peed my pants....we laughed so hard...!!!! it's the funniest thing eva....

listening to them sound out these words........it's hi-lar-ious!!! for the final game, tonee' and sommer were partners and then me and chris.....they thought the quiet ones wouldn't do good....yeah...right...it's those quiet ones you got to watch out for......we skunked them.....

and for the last page in a mini book I'm working on of the trip...I wanted a group shot.....but we couldn't get one where we didn't look crazy.....so I guess we will just have to stick to crazy!!!

I wish we could've stayed there for ever.....it was such a relief..not being surrounded by all the memories....these were new memories.....we were making new memories....and it was good to laugh and feel closer to my girls....oh yeah..and Chris too....
