TGIF

did a simple page last night of us and the polar bears at the zoo...it's on a white grid paper, but you can't really see the paper at all....

I am really itching to scrap.....gonna try and do a few challenges this weekend over at tallyscrapper.....I am so tired, still trying to get used to getting up so early to get sommer on the school bus, speaking of school I am so proud of Tonee' she is officially signed up at our community college for a pharmacy tech. course....she's really excited and starts next month!!!

Scrapbooks etc... TOOT!!!

I am super excited to finally after about a year and a half...of submitting to get an email from scrapbooks etc...requesting a layout...!!! I was literally hootin' and hollerin' when I got the email....it's supposed to be in the feb issue...!! plus I finished another layout....using the new mr. campy line!! which has the most beautiful colors....love it!!
the layout is of my new bed...I switched from a king size to a queen...it was hard to go to bed everynight in this huge bed...and I still was on my side......knowing that someone was missing from the other side...but now it's just me in the middle...it's weird how small a queen seems once you've had a king......

Polar Bears

The Toledo Zoo

first let me say that it was so hot!!!! i think it was 81 degrees when we got there around 10:30......and 90 when we left around 3!! But it was fun...and it was'nt crowded which was nice...I think most people had already started school..... I took a ton of pics of the kids.....
and I finally got to see the butterfly exhibit...which was beautiful....you walked in and were just surrounded by butterflies......made me want to start a butterfly garden next year for sure......I was kinda bummed none of them landed on me though.....

and sommer was most excited to see the penguins.....she even bought a penguin necklace.....

it was so hot....we stopped and got frozen lemonades....and sat next to these machines that would just mist you with water.....felt good!! the giraffes were so amazing....

and of course we had to check out the dung!!! so gross....

I'm not even going to tell you why chris had this up to no good smirk!!! all I'm going to say is this gorilla had a nice booty!!!

and finally this is me sitting down taking a rest while the kids check out the snakes....ewww!!! and I think at this very minute...I am thinking how I can get the rescue helicopter to swoop in and carry me to my car....'cause I am beat....I am hot..and I think I am heat stroking!! great memories....we had fun...and ended with dinner at denny's....

everybody voted and our favorite part was the polar bears....maybe it's because we got to sit in air conditioning....but no really they were so cute, and they were playing right in front of the window....Sommer video taped it..and I will try and post a few seconds of it...soon!!!

we're off to the zoo....I am so excited, I don't think we have been since sommer was ?? about 5....and she just turned 12...so it's been a long time.....everybody had their animal that they want to see.....Sommer wants to see the penguins, and I can't wait to see the butterfly exhibit...but I thought it would be a fun...last day of summer thing to do....I know it's not the last day of summer for real...but "my" Sommer starts 7th grade tomorrow (yay...doing the party dance), it's that time.....I'm ready for sweater weather, the leaves to fall, visit to the apple orchard....well you get it......even though I think I heard that it's going to be like 90* degrees today...yikes!! Oh well I did finish up a page for the DT at Scrappy Chic....I love the way those pink paislee alphas flow together...looks cursive.....and the pic is of destiny at the cookout...aint she cute!!?

the girls cut up all the blog comments for the RAK....and put them in a hat...and sommer picked....

Family reunion

I was a little freaked out about all the family coming over yesterday...but just like I thought it turned out great....everybody had a good time..... tried to get a group shot of my family....with mom and dad together...with us kids and our kids....even though my parents are divorced we still do all birthdays,holidays...and stuff together....i think I'm lucky for that...
I had made a scrapbook of all the black and white pics my grandma passed down to me...and that was the hit of the party...everybody loved seeing all the old pics..

Tonee' and chris playing a mean game of basketball....

and here is everybody from the cookout......it was about impossible to fit everybody...or keep everyones attention...

and alyssa ed with my grandma...which I guess would be her great grandma...

and of course caught a great pics of the Mikes....

and me and Chris..........I am so short!!!

but it was fun.....and great seeing everybody....it was the first time for some of them to be at our house since ed passed away....the only thing that felt weird is watching everybody realizing that everybody goes on with their lives....that life goes on...but you sometimes feel like you can't.....

Sommer just woke up.....so I should be doing the drawing for the RAK soon!!!
