Saturday night croppin'

Look at this beautiful basket that one of Ed's bosses dropped off....it was filled with honeybaked ham, turkey, cheese's, breads, candies....the cutest christmas cookies...that I have ever seen!! and then they put a card in with a collection they had all donated for our family!! It was really hard to see Ed's boss...just because I felt Ed so much.....he just reminded me...but it was really thoughtful.....and generous!! and I only cried like a baby....just for a minute! Last night Miki, was so awesome to let us crop at her house, and as soon as we got there, we all got a lil' present!!! yay!! love the presents.....and we all got a different ornament...mine was this beautiful...giant bell...that matched my tree perfect, plus I have been on a polar express kick here lately.....so the bell kinda fits with that.....(cause I can hear it)


Miki could so be the next martha.....first her house was decorated "gorgeously" is that a word?? every room had a christmas detail in it.....just beautiful!! and then she made homemade "hard" candy....so yummy!!!

and then for dinner she fed us the most delicious...nachos ever!! with all the fixin's too....check out her puppy...who is just hoping jeniece drops something....(don't hold your breath...puppy....)...ha,ha!!

now it was time to scrap......I think we went home about 1 or 2 in the morning.....so I kinda feel like I have a hang over today...put the strongest thing I drank last night was diet cherry pepsi!! but I did finish one layout....just haven't actually brought my stuff in from the van yet!! that is so bad!!

and look at these cute bear ornaments.....I just hung on the tree...they look so old.....love 'em thanks miki!!

gingerbread house

Sommer was ready to make the gingerbread house the second she came through the door......she was so excited!! and I have to say it was good seeing her having so much fun!!!Tonee' even jumped in and helped....she put a couple pieces of candy on and then she was done........
and here is the final gingerbread house...she did great!! It's really starting to feel like christmas around here....Our house is the family christmas house every christmas eve...and I was'nt sure if I wanted to have the party this year without Ed, (mom says we're pretty boring without ED), but I've decided that I do want to have the party, I do want the house full of family, and everyone playing cards...eating food, the kids exchanging gifts.....I think if we just did nothing....we would end up regreting it....might as well be surounded by family...family that loved Ed..as much as me...
Okay...Landy "tried" to be cute in the basket like Gitta...but I don't think it worked.......I think they're telling me they want a cat bed???

and I finished another page...not to crazy about this one...just could'nt get it to feel right...but it's done....and that's okay!!

Can't believe its been 6 weeks, without Ed....I wonder if this is how I will keep track of time from now on...by how many weeks...I haven't seen my Scrubby!!! Ed...miss you so much!

let it snow!! let it snow!! let it snow!!!

I was surprised to see it snowing this morning when sommer was getting on the bus.....I love the snow, I hope it stays through christmas......it's just so beautiful...and when the landfill across the street gets covered....it looks like a big mountain covered in snow...well I guess it is a mountain covered in snow...but you just kinda forget its a mountain of trash when its covered in snow!!I got this.....cute postcard yesterday from Silvia...all the way from Holland...how cool is that....she has a great blog...that I love to stalk...and there is a link to hers on the side...so check her out!! But thanks silvia...it did make me smile... , because with this in the mail, I also got the copy of our wedding license that I had to order...so I had a short boo-hoo....just brought back a few great memories.....When we got married...we just went to the court house, we already started our family, were already paying bills...we just went down and made it official.....but what's sad is we always talked about renewing our vows......on the beach, barefoot....at Sterling State Park...of all places....but we kept saying after we got Tonee' graduated....
I picked this book up too.....the movie comes out on the 21st...and yes I am tempted, but thought I would give the book a peek...first...I know that her husband dies at 35...and it's her friends that get her through this......plus I think he left notes for her...as how to get on with her new life....

and speaking of friends....I got a call from Carla yesterday with some great news!! and then JJ dropped over last night with a gift basket that a group that her kids belong to raised money....to give this basket to us.....It was just so sweet to think of how hard they worked to make this happen' , it was so cute...filled with hot cocoa, a gingerbread house kit (which sommer is driving me nuts to do, so that might happen tonight), a gift card, plus they gave me the stuff to do christmas cards, like stamps...and a gift card to buy christmas cards...such a great idea....she thinks of everything!!

and of course as soon as the basket was empty....you know who...moved in....I think he thinks that he is a tiny little kitten...because he is always trying to shove is big rear end in things that are much too..small!! Either that or he knows that if he does something cute...he'll make it on the blog.....hee,hee!

I did a layout of the girls at the Christmas in Ida parade...and I've been playing with the printer and found out it prints this 3x3 size too.....

I think the peeps are getting together this weekend.....get ready for us Miki.....I have a driver so mix me up something icee and fruity!! and full of alcohol! just kidding!!......oops...sorry don't know where that came from...but it still sounds good!!

Yesterday I got the bill for Eds funeral in the mail.....that's what you want to see before christmas, an itemized bill of your husbands funeral....but I understand they need their money too...but it kinda bummed me out, and then like sign from above, Renee stops out (she's on the scrappy chic design team too) and hands me the sweetest "gift" ever....and it could'nt of come at a better time.....Amazing!! Renee don't know how I will thank you, but I think that you know, how much this means to me......she lost her mother a few days after I lost Ed....and after she left , jeniece stopped over for a visit too...., it was so cold..so we got the fire started, lit the "cinnamon toast" candle...and just relaxed.... Renee had bought some new scrap goodies.....and that's all it takes to get me in the scrappin' mood......seeing new cool product!! So I kicked out a page last night too....using the figgy pudding paper from basic grey, and my minds eye paper too...

and check out the awesome mini pics.....this printer is amazing......I keep hiding my printer paper...trying to keep the girls out of it.....it's just a little too...easy to use!!

Christmas in Ida

Saturday we headed off to Ida...for the Christmas in Ida night parade....I have to admit I was not looking forward to the weather, but Sommer was really excited to go...cause they're having Drew Seely and KeKe palmer in concert there....and plus she brought a friendIt started to snow pretty heavy around 6pm....look at those red cheeks....it was so cold!!! JJ brought us over some hot chocolate and homemade chicken noodle soup...plus some puppy chow..!! that was awesome....this is us waiting for the meet and greet so they could get autographs.....
Chelsea tried to take a pic of us...but it came out blurry...plus snow kept getting on the camera....

and here sommer is getting her concert pass autographed by keke palmer, she has a song out on disney...and she was in that movie akeelah and the bee...she was really sweet...and the girls were so excited!!

notice I don't have any pics of the actual parade, cause once the parade started it started to rain with the snow.....so we took off pretty quick...and it was a slick ride home. It made me think how normally ed would'nt be able to sleep until we were home on nights like this....that was the only hard part about the parade, is that it seemed that "everybody" was a couple...and tons of families....which makes you just realize that he's gone....but the girls had fun....and that made me happy...they stayed up late watching Hairspray for the hundreth time...and playing sims..!!

and I finished a page last night........always loved this paper..just wasn't sure what to do with it......but when I printed this pic of Tonee' last night...at home...with my new printer..hee,hee!! it just seem to fit!

Santa came last night!!!!

Okay maybe not santa...but it sure felt like Christmas.......I was in the back..and sommer comes walking up to me with this gift bag....saying someone came to the door and said they were just dropping this off for her mom.....

What???? It's the printer I've been wanting...that prints those mini pics I love to use......and probably use too..much...but if you thought I used alot before...watch out!!! and check out the gorgeous card that sandi made.... then I read the card and found out who my santa's are.....My peeps....I don't deserve them...but I love 'em!! And I know they love me too...which is an awesome feeling!! So thank you girls...Sandi,Lori,Jeniece,Denise, Allison, Miki,Heather, Carla & Kathy!! You guys really made me smile okay and maybe do a little dance!!! hee,hee....

and then to top it off.....about a half hour later these little beauties showed up at my door......now a girl could get use to all this!!!!! Check out these new 7 gypsies mini stickers.....jeniece dropped these off..she knows I love......these....aren't they yummmy??
Looking forward to printing some pics....hee,hee...love that!! and then scrappin' with my new stickers.....thanks girls ....you keep me scrappin'....you all spoil me like my scrubby used to...!! When I opened the printer....I told sommer that this was my christmas wish...and she said well then dad would've probably got it for you....love ya guys!!

1. wrapping paper or gift bags? I am all about the wrapping paper.....love on christmas morning when the living room is filled with ripped up wrapping paper....plus it's just more fun to rip open a present..

2. real or artificial? okay first we are talking about christmas trees right?? I love the "real" grew up on the "real", my parents would always put the tree up the week of christmas....I hated that...and now we put our tree up in novemeber so we kinda have to have the artificial..

3.when do you put the tree up? try to wait till after thanksgiving, it's been up as early as november 15th.

4.when do you take the tree down? usually a couple days after christmas.

6.favorite gift recieved as a child? one year I got the roller skating barbie....and roller skating ken....I used to always get the barbie...but never the matching ken....and I still remember that....I was a big barbie fan!!! I think I played with them till I was 12!!

That was fun!!! Last night me and Sommer watched the polar express...such a beautiful christmas movie...., and only made me cry once.....that's pretty good!! Tonight we are heading out to the Ida Christmas Night Parade.....and we are gonna freeze our buns off ( I wish) we will be outside from about 4pm till around 9pm...and I hear we are probably gonna get a lil snow/rain mix.....brrr....need to get all bundled Well hope you all have a great weekend.........
